Past Meetings
Each colloquium brings academic drug discovery centers, trainees, and industry partners together to share science and solve the problems that slow new therapies down.
Up next
UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center, San Francisco. Early registration is open, and abstracts are due January 31.
Timeline
Crossing gateways and navigating new terrain: moving discoveries into the translational space so they can reach patients.
Introducing the next generation of drug hunters.
Held jointly with the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) as part of the ASPET 2024 Annual Meeting.
A screen is only as good as the molecules that go into it.
A day and a half on new technologies and computational tools for building virtual, high-throughput and fragment-based screening libraries that deliver higher quality leads, plus one-on-one partnering meetings and an exhibition.
Fueling Innovation: Public Programs Driving Drug Discovery.
How to fund academic drug discovery: keynotes by Carlos Zarate (NIMH) and Bryan Roth (UNC), plus partnering meetings with program directors from NIH, Wellcome Trust, GSK, the European Lead Factory and CPRIT. Sponsors included MilliporeSigma, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Janssen and Waters.
Recent Successes and Emerging Opportunities.
The first joint colloquium with ASPET, held right after Experimental Biology 2016: small-molecule success stories, rare and neglected diseases, and government funding, with a keynote by Mike Poole (Gates Foundation) and a day of pharma–academic partnering meetings. Sponsors included MilliporeSigma, Merck, CDD Vault, Waters, Charles River, Teva and Adis Insight.
A one-day conference co-hosted with the editors of the NIH Assay Guidance Manual, bringing industry, academic, government and journal scientists together on practical fixes for irreproducible preclinical research. It was covered in Nature Reviews Drug Discovery.
ADDC's first conference, a year after the consortium formed: academic drug discovery centers showcased their programs across Science, Business Development and Education/Career tracks, with partnering sessions alongside industry and CROs.
