Center/Program Highlights: The SMDC partners with academics and pharmaceutical companies to develop innovative therapies. The laboratory includes high-throughput screening, fragment-based lead discovery, structural biology, and medicinal chemistry. Special areas of focus include neglected tropical diseases, novel prodrug technologies, and modulating protein-protein interactions. The Fragment Discovery Center is a UCSF-based research collaborative and member of the NCI's Chemical Biology Consortium.
